Chapel Farm

Chapel Farm is a contemporary collection of three new houses for a private client in Fife. The incredible beautiful site is an old dairy farm just outside of Aberdour, and which offer an elevated view over the three Forth bridges. The houses have been delicately arranged on the heavily sloping site to maximise both views to the open countryside as well as privacy between themselves and the adjacent neighbours.

The original brief asked for sustainable construction using natural materials, so we developed a design which uses insitu hempcrete finished in a pale pink lime render allowing it to be fully breathable. The windows and doors will be handmade using oak, and a landscaping strategy is being prepared by Nick Burton.
